Human Resources and Operations manager

Terms of Employment: Consultant, 20 hours a week

We use negotiations, investigations, peaceful direct actions, and innovative campaigning methods to expose the suffering of animals in factory farms.

 

About the position:

Are you a Human Resources or Operations Professional who’s passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion? If so, this may be the career connection for you. Sinergia Animal is seeking a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion manager to help us oversee our operations and cultivate a supportive and inclusive work environment for all our collaborators. The DEI and Operations Manager will be responsible for recognizing, creating, and implementing plans to promote diversity within the organization and helping oversee budgeting, and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and infusing diversity and inclusion excellence as core values throughout all aspects of the organization.

  • Assessing, and developing policies, education, and training that promote inclusion, diversity, and equality among the team members.

  • Creating and leading training sessions on diversity, inclusion, and the prevention of bullying, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.  

  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of actions taken to improve culture.

  • Ability to oversee budgeting, and reporting.  

  • Researching and advising on diversity and inclusion issues and creating programs, training, and values around this.

  • Partnering with the Communications team to revise and update all communication on our website, social media pages, job descriptions, and internal documents to ensure we use inclusive and respectful language and create a brand that appeals to diverse applicants and removes bias.

  • Identifying external trends and recognizing best practices which will increase diversity and an empathic working culture among the collaborators.

 

Technical requirements:

  • Fluent or advanced English and Spanish are indispensable;

  • Solid experience in HR, DEI and Operations roles;

  • Solid experience in conflict resolution;

  • Solid experience in financial management and reports;

  • Previous experience with NGOs is desirable.

  • Excellent multitasking and time-management skills;

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving;

  • A great team player, but can also do the job independently;

Corporate Outreach Director

About the position:

Sinergia Animal is seeking a Corporate Outreach Director to help us oversee our cage-free work in the Global South, with a strong focus on Asia. The Corporate Outreach Director will be responsible for recognizing, creating, and implementing plans to promote corporate engagement and policy accountability among food companies as well as helping to oversee the regional teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Help and supervise national teams research as well as build and maintain a database of food companies’ profiles and key contacts

  • Help and supervise national teams in establishing permanent contact with key corporate contacts via emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings with the goal of persuading companies to adopt cage-free egg policies in their supply chains

  • Together with national teams, build a strategic plan with short- and long-term goals 

  • Develop and carry out regular training to empower national teams to negotiate with companies in an ethical, legal, and effective manner

  • Produce monthly reports about progress and actions needed for improvement

  • Represent Sinergia Animal and its programs at public events and with the NGO and animal protection communities at large

  • Build alliances with other international and/or grassroots NGOs

 

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese

  • Desirable: previous experience in corporate engagement with major food companies

  • Excellent ability to lead teams in a kind and constructive manner

  • Can-do attitude

  • Excellent multitasking and time-management skills

  • Excellent oral communication, writing, and proofreading skills

  • Excellent research skills

  • Critical thinking and problem solving

  • Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a remote team

  • An affinity with animal rights issues and a vegan lifestyle are highly desirable
